Notifications pane

You can view the Notifications pane, which lists the five highest-severity notifications for an individual storage system or for an active/active pair of storage systems.

Notifications pane for individual storage systems

The following list shows notifications that might be displayed for individual storage systems. Some notifications have an

button that you can click to link to a corresponding page within the application, from which you can investigate the specific issue.

You can click

at the top of the Notifications pane to display a Notifications Properties dialog box, where more detail about the notification is displayed. You cannot dismiss notifications.

•	Critical notifications that require immediate attention:

•	The active/active pair status for the individual storage system (cannot take over node or node taken over).

•	Failed fan

•	Failed power supply

•	Temperature over threshold

•	Storage system is not responding

•	ONTAP version mismatch

•	License mismatch

•	Error notifications that require attention to avoid eventual downtime:

•	Disk failed or removed by administrator

•	Insufficient spare disks

•	Active/active configuration not enabled

•	Volume offline

Notifications pane for active/active pairs

The Notifications pane for an active/active pair shows notifications for the nodes within the pair. These notifications are similar to the ones used for individual storage systems. In addition, the following active/active pair notifications might be displayed.

•	Error notifications that require attention to avoid eventual downtime:

•	Node x has taken over node y.

•	Node x cluster takeover is disabled.

•	Options need to be synced.
